First of all it’s not about the movie… but it’s about the culture
Delhi-6 is actually also place where you can find big wholesale market for electrical good at Lajpat rai market, lenses in fatehpuri, shoes in Balli Marran ….
But friends it’s not only about commodities food, here you find lively people who still care for neighbors, who still celebrate the joy of buying a new car, who still celebrate India’s cricket win with more than 50 people watching single 14” TV, there are still people eager to tell you the correct way when you are lost in those street… that’s what makes this place unique and which I believe to be the true spirit of any Delhite which somehow is burdened with hectic life and continues mobile rings….

i hv myself hv the fisrt hand experience of living in delhi-6 n ankur has described it beautifully

ReplyDeletethere is Chenaram Halwai whose 'Karachi Halwa' is best in india, then there is bengal sweet shop n ghante halwai which is over 100 yrs old. there are things peculiar to delhi-6 like "daulat ki chat" something cn b found only in delhi-6 and close to extinction :(
